Job Description: The ideal candidate is a self-proclaimed social
networking expert and Content Producer who actively uses MySpace,
Facebook, Twitter, Bebo and other Web 2.0 platforms.
If you are not an active user of these sites, along with high
quality copy writing for SMO articles, then you are probably not
the right person for this role. We are looking for someone who
knows what is hot now and what is next. You should have a passion
for exploring cutting edge social networking platforms and have a
personal online brand utilizing the latest tools and techniques to
stay connected to friends, family and colleagues while experiencing
your unique interest and taste!
In this exciting newly created role, you will confidentially work
to launch the online social media presence for a globally
recognized product brand. You will champion the brand online as the
company (confidentially and anonymously, and the instructions you
will be provided with are proprietary company training and must be
protected at all times).
You will present, publish and post the company message crafted by
the marketing, public relations and membership departments. In this
important role, you will be responsible for professionally
representing the brand online and insuring that only the company
message is posted across the social networking world. Beyond social
networking, this person must become a passionate social networking
steward for thebiggest brand in this client's vertical market!!
Responsibilities:
• Launch and manage social media presence on a provided list of
social networking sites, including but not limited to, MySpace,
Facebook, Twitter, Bebo and other relevant Web 2.0 sites.
• Workindependently to ensure proper messaging is being executed
online and is relevant to organizational goals.
• Review company information and organize personal work time for
maximum effectiveness. Must demonstrate ability to manage personal
work time without supervision.
• Support and protect globally recognized brand by ensuring
positive messaging is maintained in community.
• Establish consistency of message across multiple networks •
Manage online profiles, posting company messaging and updating
company information on all social networks.
• Read and follow detailed instructions for account creation,
profile creation, blog creation and content posting.
• Prepare reports to update internal staff on status and progress.
Ability to document work product/procedures, comment and recommend
on performance improvement opportunities (ways to do the job
better, faster, more efficiently).
Skills:
• 2-5 years professional work experience (software and/or
technology preferred)
• Must have expert ability to use Microsoft Word and Microsoft
Excel, including the development of macros in each.
• Must have active accounts across key social networking sites
including, but not limited to, MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, Bebo,
etc. (You will be asked to provide access to accounts you have
established and maintained.)
• Must have active accounts across key social blogging sites
including, but not limited to, Blogspot, WordPress, LiveJournal
• Must have exceptional traditional English writing and grammatical
skills and a flair for using "social networking speak" and online
jargon.
• Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to present
ideas and information clearly.
• Extreme attention to detail and outstanding organization
skills.
• Collaborative team player able to integrate with a diverse team
full of opinions and ideas.
• Online search expert able to track and monitor postings relevant
to the brand.
• College degree preferred in liberal arts, journalism or new
media.
• Interest in social networking, search engine optimization,
keyword development and social media optimization industries a
must.
• Diligent work ethic and insatiable desire to expand skills and be
the best.
